I am a Certified Divorce Coach with 20 years of experience as a licensed clinical social worker. I have a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Washington with a focus on Children, Youth & Family, and a Master of Arts degree in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California. During my career I have provided trauma-informed counseling services to adolescents and their families, college students, graduate students and young adults, collaborating with clients to reach their goals.
As a child of divorce, and then being part of a stepfamily that ended in another divorce when I was in high school, I experienced a lot of family transitions and loss of relationships with extended family. As you can imagine I never wanted to get divorced. However, after being married for 16 years with 2 daughters, I learned that my husband was gay. When I realized that my marriage was going to end, I knew that I needed to create a different divorce experience for my daughters. My former husband and I worked through the challenges to create a healthy and loving post-divorce modern family for our daughters (who are now in college) that benefits us all.
